How Image Transformation Therapy Helps Get Rid of Grief
Are you someone who has experienced a loss and just can’t seem to get past it? Do you wonder how other people can recover from their losses, but you can’t relate to their experience? Do you feel like you’ll never get over your loss(es)? If you are, this post is for you.
How Devastating Grief and Loss Can Be
It’s been said that at the heart of every depression is a loss that hasn’t been grieved. Maybe you don’t feel like you’re depressed, but if you’ve experienced a major loss it can leave you depressed. If it helps at all to know this, everyone experiences loss at some time in their lives, but depending on how it is dealt with and how it is experienced, it can take a long time to get over. Many people feel that after the loss of a loved one, they are never the same again. They may recover from the loss, but their lives are irreversibly changed as a result of the loss.
What Image Transformation Therapy Can Do For Grief and Loss
Image Transformation Therapy, or ImTT for short, is a relatively new and developing therapy, but it is specifically able to address many different facets of the grief and loss experience. It uses a breathing and visualization protocol to help people alleviate most parts of the grieving process, from the emptiness one may feel at having lost a loved one, to the shock of how sudden a loss might have been. It does this in a shorter period of time than other therapies like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which can take anywhere from months to years for people to complete. Image Transformation Therapy can process a loss in as little as one session, but longer for more complicated losses. As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, ImTT has an effect of dissolving the negative emotional material that people have been struggling with and leaving them without the feelings that were bothering them in the first place.
What I’ve Seen in the Clients I’ve Worked With
I’ve worked with many clients over the past 4 years using ImTT, and from what I’ve seen it saves people so much suffering they might have otherwise never been able to get over. I’ve helped people with simple losses, as well as those that were traumatic or complicated in nature, and I have yet to see any of them who weren’t helped by ImTT. I’ve also used it in conjunction with EMDR when we were limited in some way by time, and I am consistently impressed by how it is able to process the various aspects of grief and loss so my clients resolve their complaints and can regain a feeling of normalcy in their lives.
Can ImTT Help You?
If you’re not sure if ImTT can help you, I would be happy to talk to you about it. You can leave in inquiry in the form below, or you can call me at 512-648-3053. When I reply we can set up a free 15-minute phone consult and you can decide for yourself if I can help you using ImTT. I will need to explain it to you in session, but I can give you some basic idea about whether I could help you and whether you would be able to work with me. There is nothing about the loved one or your loss that would be done a disservice by processing your grief to resolution. It is a great tribute to your loved ones to be able to complete your grief work so you can remember them in the best possible light without tears of grief obscuring the way you remember them.
